In 2018, Sunday Streets adds another Excelsior event to the schedule – Mission Street goes car-free from Silver Avenue to Geneva Avenue to close out the season.
Between France and Onondaga, explore the Sunday Streets Market Square featuring local vendors. Pick up a Common Cents Passportat an Info Booth to get stamped at local businesses to win awesome prizes, and discover nearby stores, landmarks and restaurants with the Explore Local Guide.
HIGHLIGHTS
At the South Activity Hub, enjoy a stage with live musical performances and a photo booth from The Excelsior and Outer Mission Merchant Association (EOMM) and make a zine with SF Zine Fest!
Visit the Persia Triangle for games and fitness activities from the Excelsior Action Group (EAG), plus a pet adoption area and SF Recreation and Park’s Mobile rock climbing wall.
At the North Actvity Hub, bring kids to learn to ride a two-wheeler with SF Bicycle Coalition’s Freedom from Training Wheels and pick up fun giveaways and information from City agencies.
Visit the SF Public Library’s Excelsior Branch for an open house with live music, button-making, a bookmobile and more.
“The E” boasts the city’s highest number of families and young people and is also San Francisco’s most diverse. On any given day, you’ll find children playing in the streets in the Excelsior, so providing open space and free activities for the district’s many families, kids, seniors and residents is an obvious choice.
